The Career Center is proud to be able to offer the following programs to the Roger Williams University community. We are happy to work with you to present to any size group, students, faculty, or staff.

Past presentations have been given in the classroom; in the residence hall; for student organizations, clubs, and athletic teams; and for leadership training or staff development.

The philosophy of the program and the requirements for fulfilling them are discussed.  This program can be customized based on the demographics of the participants

Customized Programs
The Career Center is able to design programs based on the needs of the audience. We are happy to work with a faculty member, administrator or student organization to design a program.

Internship/Co-ops
Educate your students about the value and process of obtaining an experiential educational opportunity.

Networking/Informational Interviewing
Informational interviewing is a wonderful way to meet professionals while learning about their career fields. Networking is a successful tool to utilize during a person's career. We can introduce these concepts to your students in this presentation.

Cover Letter and Resume Development
Cover letters and resumes are essential tools to launch a career. Let us teach your students how.

Career Fair Success
Students have approximately 30 seconds to make a good impression at a Career Fair. We can teach them how to do it well.

Job Search Skills
Reading the want ads of a newspaper is just one way to find a job. We can show your students the many other ways.

Interviewing
The cover letter and resume have been a success. The student now has an interview!  Let us teach your students the SKILL of interviewing and follow-up. With appropriate notice, we will invite employers to join us to share their perspective on interviewing.

Evaluating and Negotiating Job Offers
Successful interviewing has led to multiple job offers. How do you decide? Salary is just one indicator. We will discuss benefits, cultures and career opportunities within organizations. We will also discuss how to ask for what you need and/or want during the offer stage.

Success on the Job
This program will address etiquette and cultural diversity in a work setting. Guest speakers may be included.
